Can’t take your eyes off Michelle Williams in this one. She looks great as Marilyn Monroe in the photos and trailers, but her performance is a different story. She disappears into the role. Very alluring and convincing. Looks like her, sounds like her, moves like her — she’s gorgeous. La Dolce Vita, indeed.
This is one of those BBC Productions where everything else is just right. The performances are interesting, the chemistry is present, and the pace is brisk. A simple story told in about 90 minutes. It’s a solid film, but it would have been forgettable without the right cast.
